Nixon Park is a beautiful stop along the Oak Leaf Trail. Nixon Park has two ponds and many trees, including some old-growth cottonwoods that were planted in 1887 by Civil War veterans from Wisconsin. Nixon Park offers plenty of opportunities for recreation such as fishing, boating, picnicking, or just relaxing on one of the benches overlooking the ponds with your favorite book. Nixon park also hosts an annual pumpkin patch during October when pumpkins are harvested and sold to those passing through town!
